As an important part of intelligent manufacturing, the industrial robot industry has developed and grown for more than half a century.

According to third-party data, the number of robots sold in China in 2023 will exceed 280,000 units. However, industrial robots still face many challenges such as complex robot programming, complex object technology, and poor consistency of incoming materials in the popularization and promotion of most general industrial scenarios, which makes the penetration rate of industrial robots still low, and the market has not formed a sustained explosive growth, which urgently needs the blessing of intelligent capabilities to overcome.

On August 21, on the occasion of the opening of the World Robot Conference, the launching ceremony of the joint laboratory of EFORT/Qizhi, Tsinghua University and University of Science and Technology of China (hereinafter referred to as "USTC") and the forum of embodied intelligence young scientists were successfully held in Wuhu. At the same time, EFORT announced a new strategy to cut into the embodied intelligent track at this event.

At this event, Tsinghua University, University of Science and Technology of China, EFORT, Qizhi Robotics established a joint laboratory announced the official launch, around the joint laboratory, to jointly carry out the field of embodied intelligence perception, decision-making, planning and control related forward-looking technology and common technology platform research and exploration, to promote the subversive breakthrough of robot intelligent capabilities. At the same time, it is deeply engaged in core areas such as computing and perception technology, system design and control strategy, driving the rapid development of intelligent robot technology, and contributing to the independent innovation and core competitiveness improvement of robot technology in Anhui Province and even the whole country.
